TRAINING OF FISHERIES INSPECTORS IN CONGO

COFREPECHE, in a consortium with AGT and INROS LACKNER, provides the technical assistance of a project to improve the conditions for the exercise of maritime fisheries and the sustainability of its management in Republic of Congo, co-financed by AFD and the EU. It is a 42-month project that begun in December 2020.

In this context, fisheries inspectors recently assigned to the Fisheries Inspection and Control Unit of Pointe Noire Fisheries and Aquaculture Regional Department (DDPA) participated in a training held by the technical assistance in Pointe Noire from April 11 to 23, 2022. Topics covered by the training were:

  • Mastering of regulations and procedures
  • Mastering inspection techniques on land and at sea
  • Improving knowledge of fishing technics in Congo
  • Drafting of observation reports and official statement of offence
