Launch of the KfW project “Modernisation of the Artisanal Fishing Port of Nouadhibou”.

COFREPECHE, in consortium with INROS Lackner (consortium leader) has just started the project funded by the KfW ” Modernisation of the Artisanal Fishing Port of Nouadhibou”.

This project, of 48 months (and 24 months for the warranty period) for a value of 1 758 612 euro, aims at improving the services of the Port Authority of the Bay du Repos (EPBR) for artisanal fisheries in Nouadhibou. The project will contribute to food security in Mauritania as well as in other West African countries, and to the use of the fishery resource in a more sustainable way through a more efficient and hygienic treatment of landed fish.

The program will consist of three components:

  1. Prepare project activities through environmental, economic and social studies, target group studies, management plan, etc. ;
  2. Support the completion of the works and accompanying measures ;
  3. Support the EPBR during the warranty period.
