IORA WEBINAR: Enhancing knowledge on international trade and markets of fish products in IORA

COFREPECHE organizes in the context of the French Development Agency (AFD) funded project “Technical assistance for the Implementation of the IORA (Indian Ocean Rim Association) Action Plan on fisheries, Aquaculture and the Marine Environment”, a webinar on “Enhancing knowledge on international trade and markets of fish products in IORA”.

The webinar will take place on 12^th of October 2021 from 07:00 to 09:00 (GMT) and will be hosted by the IORA Secretariat in collaboration with the AFD technical assistance team. It will be introduced by the IORA Secretariat and the IORA Working Group on the Blue Economy.

The general objective of the webinar is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of international trade situation for seafood products within the IORA region.

The specific objectives are the following:

• To present the findings of the Technical Report No. 7, “International Trade Study – Review of Fish Trade in the IORA Region” based on literature review carried out;
• Present some proposed recommendations to address some of the salient issues for improving international fish trade in IORA region;
• To present case studies of fish trade from two IORA member states and the perspectives of FAO Globefish;
• To interact with participants and discuss the prospects and recommendations for improved fish trade, as a way forward
