AWARDING OF THE “DEVELOPMENT OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN 2018-2022 OF THE SUB-REGIONAL FISHERIES COMMISSIONherie” PROJECT

COFREPECHE is contracted by the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission to elaborate its new strategic plan 2018-2022 in the framework of a financing of the World Bank of the PRAO.

COFREPECHE won the contract “Development of the strategic plan 2018-2022 of the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission” within the framework of a financing from the World Bank of PRAO. This mission began in April 2018 and should be completed by the end of October 2018.

The main objective of the mission was to enable the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission (SRFC) to have, for the next five years, a strategy document that would allow them to face the major challenges of sustainable management of fisheries resources in a context of increasing depletion of halieutic resources.

More specifically, the mission was to:

• Fully evaluate the 2011 – 2015 SRFC Strategic Plan based on lessons learned from its implementation;
• Evaluate the activities of the SRFC for the years 2016-2017;
• Develop, based on the results of the evaluation and new challenges (at national, regional and international levels), the new Strategic Plan 2018-2022;
• Define the various options for mobilizing the necessary funds to ensure the effective implementation of this new Strategic Plan.
