Capacity Building for Sustainable Fishing in Congo through COFREPECHE
As part of the project implemented by COFREPECHE since December 2020, “Improvement of the conditions for marine fisheries and the sustainability of its management in Congo,” funded by the French Development Agency through funds delegated by the European Union, COFREPECHE organized a training from March 12th to March 15th, 2024, benefiting the personnel of the Autonomous Port of Pointe-Noire and representatives from the Ministry of Fisheries of Pointe-Noire. The topics covered were diverse, ranging from port infrastructure management to regulatory compliance, data collection, and implementation of port regulations.
This training provided a solid foundation for the future managers of the upcoming industrial fishing port and artisanal pier, with feedback on the quality of the training being very satisfactory.
