FIRST BRIEFING OF THE SRI LANKA PROJECT IN PARIS
COFREPECHE was yesterday at the AFD’s headquarters in Paris, as part of the first briefing of the project “Feasibility study of the project for the rehabilitation and improvement of the management of fishing ports and improvement of the management of the fishery resource in Sri Lanka ».
This briefing initiates a 9 months feasibility study financed by the AFD and implemented by COFREPECHE, leader of the consortium, and Royal HaskoningDHV.
The overall objective of the project covered by this feasibility study is to increase export earnings from the fisheries sector (yellowfin tuna mainly) through the rehabilitation of fishing harbours tackling the environmental and sanitary issues, adding values to the products, securing jobs and increasing small operators revenues by focusing on the quality of products and improving fisheries resources and marine environment management.
